  • Buddha Dordenma Statue: Perched atop a hill in Thimphu, this colossal golden Buddha sits on a gilded meditation hall and houses 125,000 smaller Buddha statues inside. This means there are more Buddha statues here than Thimphu's population of 100,000. The site is also known as Buddha Point.

The trail crosses rice fields to the small settlement of Pana, offering insights into local village life.
  3. After checking into your hotel, visit Punakha Dzong, a grand structure at the confluence of two rivers. It served as Bhutan's capital until 1955 and is still the winter residence of the monk body.
